Screenings and vaccines

Screenings can help find things like cancer, diabetes or heart disease early when they are most treatable. Vaccines can help keep you from catching viruses that can make you really sick. Talk with your primary care team to decide which screenings and vaccines are right for you and when you should have them.

  • Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm

  • Bone Mass Measurement (Bone Density Test)
  • Breast Cancer (Mammogram)

Manage your medicine

It is very important to take all medicines exactly as prescribed. If the cost of the copay or deductible keeps you from filling your prescriptions, let your primary care team know. There may be other medicines or discount plans that can help.

Don’t skip a dose – not even once!

  • Most insurance plans offer lower co-pays or savings for 90-day supplies or
when you use a mail-order or preferred pharmacy.
  • Drug companies often offer free trials or coupons for new
prescriptions. Check their website or ask your primary care team or
    pharmacist.
  • Online services like goodrx.com and rxoutreach.org may help you find a lower price
for generic and brand name medicines.

If the cost of medicine is keeping you from taking it as directed by your doctor, let’s talk!

Keep track of every medicine you take.

This printable medications chart will help you keep track of all of the medicines you take — prescription and over the counter. Share it with your primary care team at every visit and carry it with you in case of emergency.
