Always call your ChristianaCare primary care team FIRST. They are your trusted partners for coordinating your overall care and making health decisions. Call your primary care team for:

  • A fever, sore throat or stomachache, or when you just don’t feel well.
  • Help with a minor cut or sprain.
  • A care plan for managing chronic conditions.
  • Well-visit checkups or physicals for work, school or sports.
  • Prenatal or baby care visit.
  • COVID-19 or flu shot information.

Where do I go if primary
care is not available?

It’s the weekend and you have a sore throat, need stitches or can’t sleep because of an earache? Urgent care centers are a great option when your primary care team is not available. Like their name says, emergency departments (EDs) are for true emergencies such as serious injuries or life-threatening illnesses.

If it’s a true medical emergency and you need help right away, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. For everything else, call your primary care practice or visit an urgent care center.
